CAGW Statement on FCC Internet Freedom Rulemaking

WASHINGTON–()–Today, Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) President Tom Schatz launched a press release following the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announcement that will probably be contemplating the Restoring Internet Freedom rulemaking at its December assembly:

“We are pleased that the FCC is taking this critical step to remove the antiquated, depression-era regulations over the internet that were imposed in February 2015 under former FCC chairman Tom Wheeler. The transparency in this proceeding is a welcome change from previous FCC processes, and we look forward to reviewing the final order prior to the vote at the FCC. Restoring freedom to the internet would constitute a landmark achievement for consumers and taxpayers alike.”
